Basic Instructions for Use
  • STEP 1: If this is the first time you have used the calculator on this computer, you will need to modify the values in the "Calculator Default Settings" box to match the values used in your court. When you have finished modifying these values, be sure to click "Save Settings". Doing so will allow the values you entered to be saved for the next time you use the calculator.
  • STEP 2: In the field labeled "Base Fine/Court Cost Amount", enter one of the following:
    • Base Fine amount: Enter the Base Fine amount if you are using the calculator to calculate all applicable additions and surcharges to be added to a base fine.
    • Court Cost: Enter the Court Cost amount if you are using the calculator to back out the base fine and all additional charges from a preset, total fine amount.
  • STEP 3: If calculating a partial payment schedule, select one of the partial payment options and fill in the requested partial payment information.
  • STEP 4: If you entered a Base Fine in STEP 2 above, click the "Calculate Total Due" Button. If you entered the total Court Cost in STEP 2, click the "Calculate Base Fine" Button

Jail Fund
Assesses the 10% Jail Construction and Staffing Fund surcharge.
Law Library
The dollar amount for Law Library if assessed.
Clerk Retirement
Assesses the $2.00 deduction for the Superior Court Clerks’ Retirement Fund. Applicable to all courts which the Clerk of Superior Court serves.
Probate Retirement
Assesses the $3.00 deduction for the Probate Judges Retirement Fund.
Sheriff Retirement
Assesses the $2.00 deduction for the Sheriffs' Retirement Fund. Applicable to all courts which Sheriff serves.

Felony Probation
Assesses the $50 crime lab fee surcharge per O.C.G.A. § 42-8-34(d)(1).
DATE Fund
Assesses the 50% drug abuse treatment and education fund surcharge for violations listed under O.C.G.A. § 15-21-100.
DUI Conviction
Checks all applicable boxes and asses surcharges for a DUI conviction.
Photo Publication
$25 publication fee for 2nd or subsequent DUI conviction or family violence or pandering.
Traffic Violation
Assesses the driver education and training fund, DETF, surcharge per O.C.G.A. § 15-21-179.
Bond Forfeiture
Calculates the breakdown for a bond forfeiture.
Application Fee
Assesses the $50 indigent defense application fee for those applying for indigent defense per O.C.G.A. § 15-21A-6.
Crime Lab Fee
Assesses the $25 crime lab fee surcharge for violations of O.C.G.A. §§ 16-13-2(b) and 40-6-391 per O.C.G.A. § 42-8-34(d)(2).
Reckless Driving
Assesses the 10% BSITF surcharge for violations of O.C.G.A. § 40-6-390.
Safe Harbor Fund
Assesses the $2,500.00 safe harbor fund surcharge for violations listed under O.C.G.A. § 15-21-208.
GSIF
Deducts Georgia state indemnification fund monies for violations of O.C.G.A §§ 16-5-21(c), 16-5-24(c) or 16-10-24.
Theoretical Fine
Calculates surcharges when fine is waived per O.C.G.A. § 17-10-1(d)(4) and theoretical fine is imposed.
Law Library
Assesses the law library fee per O.C.G.A. § 36-15-9 configured in the settings. This fee only applies once per docketed and enumerated case.
